InformationMatex’s Remarkable Achievement in Europe

2023.6.15

We are delighted to share our significant accomplishments at the Hannover Messe, one of the world's largest industrial exhibitions held in Germany. As an exhibitor, we had the invaluable opportunity to showcase our planetary gear reducer units to visitors from all around the globe. Through comprehensive explanations of the features of our products and by providing thorough responses to our client's inquiries, we successfully achieved our objective of promoting our products at the Hannover Messe. Taking this crucial step forward, we are thrilled to have expanded our market presence in Europe.

During this trip to Europe, we also had the privilege of visiting our esteemed clients throughout Europe, which greatly enhanced our understanding of how our products are being utilized. One of our clients, Holmatro Mastering Power, located in the Netherlands, has successfully integrated our planetary gear reducer unit (LGU35-S series) into their rescue mini cutter, enabling them to save lives. This application holds profound meaning for us, as we witness the impactful and life-saving use of our products.

ProductsThe new two LGU35 series(φ35mm) are introduced.

2021.4.2

Two new models with high torque and high durability are now available! Recommended for small size and high torque applications. The LGU35 series, which is popular for Matex planetary gear module systems, has been further enhanced.

A reducer that is indispensable in the world where electrification and automation are advancing. Among them, the needs for planetary reducers are increasing because the input and output can be taken coaxially and the design can be made compact. In particular, the demand for compact, high-torque reducers is increasing due to the trend of machine miniaturization.
To meet this market need, we have a new lineup of compact, high-torque models. The size is the same as the conventional model LGU35 series, and the torque is 2.0 times that of the current model (LGU75-M7 series). We also have a lineup of new models with improved durability of the current model (S7 series) (LGU35-S7-A series).

ProductsJoint Development of an Ultralight Hybrid Reducer which will realize Lighter Weight Robots

(Outline of the Release)

Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinji SHIMOMURA) and Matex Co., Ltd. (Headquarters : Yao-shi, Osaka; President and CEO: Toshiaki MATOBA) have developed an ultralight reducer with light and high strength plastic material.
Recently, the market for collaborative robots, power assist suits, service robots etc. has been expanding rapidly. Furthermore, spread of home-care robots is also expected in the future. Because of these things, A reduction gear that is ultralight and compact, yet accurate and excellent in mass production has been long awaited.
In this joint development, both light weight and good productivity of the reduction gear are achieved by combining Sumitomo Heavy Industries' design technology for precision control reducers for industrial robots and Matex’s reduction gear production technology of precision molding. Based on the ECY series of precision control E cyclo reducers newly released by Sumitomo Heavy Industries, approximately one-third of weight compared to other reducers in the same class and high accuracy are realized by using lightweight and high-strength engineering plastic materials for the main components. This enables various applications that require ultralight weight and high accuracy, such as collaborative robots, power assist suits, and service robots.

The companies will continue to develop products that contribute to the sophistication of society responding to customer requests.
